lukas_demetz Hi guys, well, I am afraid to say but it looks like we will add a system in Chile. We are just unsure about what kind of system would be more interesting. Personally, I would prefer a short focal length system, possibly even shorter than what we have in Namibia. But as always I am open for suggestions 🙂 So keep them coming 🙂 Thanks Lukas
lukas_demetz So, a few examples anyone? Option one: 12" f3.1 Newton: Nicely corrected, big FOV; decent aperture Option two: 14" RC corrected to f/6: Very small spot sizes, great correction, but of course longer FL
lukas_demetz Update from our side: We got a very interesting offer for a 16" RC made with high quality LOMO optics and an ASA 4" reducer, making for a system of about 2600mm focal, and incredible spot sizes of under 2 micron (!!) across the field. We will pair it with a proven Moravian C3-61000 camera and set it up in Chile. As I am writing these lines, the camera is already here, the computer parts are all ready, the mount is being shipped and the OTA is waiting for a blowing fan. I will rig it up at home for some testing, and then ship it to Chile. I expect it to be ready for Christmas.
lukas_demetz ddemartin heh made me chuckle 🤠Btw just got the info scope is being shipped next monday.
