I saw a beautiful image of 62P crossing through the Leo Triplet the other day by a guy who caught it on SkyGems, H8. I had never considered chasing comets before, but the interesting alignment shot sent me down that rabbit hole. I set up a session for the night of 12/28 and got 30 minutes of pretty good luminous, but the wind shut me down before I got the other half of the luminous or any RGB.
I decided to give last night a halfhearted second try since the moon would be worse and I would have to reframe from the previous night due to comet movement. In the event, the session went through fine, but the moon did a number on the paltry 20 min each or RGB I got. Nonetheless, with some hammering in Photoshop I was able to roughly align the comets and move the RGB comet back a day with the clone stamp and ended up with a hint of the color I would have gotten if I was tuned in and got there on the 27th or 27th.
