Hi all!

I'm very happy with the result of M20 taken by Hakos iDK and I would like to share with you.

I think 300s is overexposed, am I right?

There is so much to learn and so much fun in astrophotography.

fernandoyang Maybe you could provide the details: times, filters, bining... I'm learning how to work in (L)RGB and that information would be of great help to me.
Thank you
Eduardo

    Fernando, well done!
I like the faint nebula contours that can be seen in the lower part of M 20.

As for overesposure, not so sure about that. I would say that 300 seconds per frame are a good compromise. The Orion nebula would be an example where you'd need both short and longer exposures to not oversaturate the center stars.

I really like how the dark nebula is coming out in your image 😀 👍

EDIT: As we are now also a partner of Astrobin, feel free to upload there, too 🙂

      Hi Eduardo,

      The exposure of this image was 15x300s for L, 3x300s for R, G and B, bin1.
I am new to astrophotography so maybe this isn't an ideal combination. Perhaps bin2 for RGB would be better.
Post-processed in PixInsight and I used Photoshop to eliminate some blooming star effects.
Next year I will integrate more sub frames to raise the snr. I want to bring out more faint nebula contours of it.
