Hi all,
it has been a busy month. So here a quick update on the status of the different systems:
- iDK20: Operational, with some minor glitches with pointing (sometimes it points in a completely wrong direction, but luckily it happens seldom)
- H8 Namibia: Operational. Collimation is not perfect, but good enough to work well with the data 🙂
- FSQ106 Namibia: Operational
- RC360 Namibia: A focuser issue forces us to swap the focuser, if all goes well by July
- CDK500 Spain: The new dome is ready and will be installed when weather allows. It should be operational shortly afterwards
- H10 Spain (former Veloce 200 Spain): I sbeing installed, also here waiting for good weather for polar alignment and testing
- Dreamscope in Utah: Operational, has been moved to Utah back in february but it took alot of effort to get it collimated.
- RC16 Chile: Operational, however collimation is not perfect. We will have the optician traveling on-site to fix it once and for all 🙂
Plus, there is quite a pool of OpenSkyGems systems which are usable. To note the newest additions:
- Deep Elite in Australia: An RC made for photometry, but also working well for photography. The original camera will be installed shortly, for now it is using an STL11000
- Astroale 110: An APO located in Italy with a One Shot Color camera
- GSV Area 39: An FSQ106 located in western US, will be operational in a few weeks
- Palantir II: A Newton located in Spain
You might have noticed that we tweaked a little the web interface, partly to make it easier to work with all those systems. One thing I would like to add is a preview of the used points - right now we only show the hourly rate at new moon, but not for other periods. This will be fixed 🙂
Clear skies
Lukas
