Testing: Panel flats for iDK

Hi,

just a heads-up: We are currently gathering some panel flats for the iDK in Namibia. Feel free to test them and let me know if you find them better or worse (or anything, really) than the currently used skyflats. I am considering adding a flat panel to both the iDK as well as the Veloce to routinely create new flats 🙂

PS: They are being uploaded in a subfolder under "RAW/Panelflats" 🙂

Thank you for making the files available. While working with some of the files I noticed that the L-band flats for the iDK Namibia seem to be saturated. Would it be possible to take them with shorter exposure time? Or perhaps it is possible to turn down the flatfield panel a bit?

Well, it was a test 🙂 Some shall be unsaturated 😉

Hope the panel will be working on it as the skyflats had a lot of variation in illumination (shifting illumination even, which I guess is due to clouds?)

COuld be, yes... On the Veloce, there seems to be some sort of (unpredictable) light filtering in from the side sometimes. Which, of course, makes life hell 🙂 Let's see what we can do, in february wewill try to collimate that beast once again, hopefully with some mayor success 🙂
