Greetings to all, nice images!
I know this thread is over a year old, but I've just found the forum recently when registering an account at Skygems. I am a simple hobby photographer (not astro) but comets are among my favourite subjects and I've photographed a few so far with my DSLR camera and telephoto lenses. I happen to live in an area with crappy weather (continuous clouds for weeks in winter), so I'm glad to finally come across this service that lets people request high quality raw data taken with dedicated gear from places with dark skies and better weather. I also like the points-per-request system (versus monthly subscriptions offered by other remote astro services). I'm thankful for this shared data set, it was great for gaining experience in LRGB processing and panel stitching (which will be useful in the future when I request and process images). Unfortunately, I was not able to totally get rid of gradients on the layers (some frames had strong light veiling so I had to leave them out completely) so the colours are not perfect, also did not use the 3rd panel set (as I was not able to see any of the tail there even with aggressive stretching, it must have been too faint so far from the coma). Processed with Siril (pre-processing with calibration files found on the server, background extraction, stretching, stacking the L frames, compositing colour), Starnet (star-removal for comet-only stack), Gimp (compositing comet-only and star-aligned stacks, stitching the panels, adjusting colour balance, reducing star size), and a final touch with IrfanView (cropping, saturation boost). Here is my result, maybe not as good as the others here but I hope you'll like it 🙂
